Mayor of the City of Kruševac Jasmina Palurović and director of PUC "Vodovod-Kruševac" Vladimir Milosavljević and his associates as well today visited works on the construction of the reservoir Grkljane.

After the completion of the construction of the pumping station in the settlement of Grkljane, in April this year, works on the construction of a reservoir in this settlement began. At the moment, construction works on the building of 120 m3, concrete and reinforcement works, as well as insulation works are being carried out. After the construction of this facility it will be continued with works on the construction of two hydro power plants and with the rehabilitation of the entire water supply system and network in this settlement. Along with these works, PUC “Vodovod – Kruševac” is executing works on the construction of a reservoir and pumping station in the settlements of Modrica and Dvorane, as well as the construction of a pumping station in the settlement of Kamenare. After the completion of the works on the construction of a pumping station in the settlement of Kamenare, the water supply system for this settlement will be completed, and by the end of the year, PUC “Vodovod- Kruševac” will connect all the households of that settlement to the central water supply system.

By the end of the year, PUC “Vodovod – Kruševac” has plans to implement works on the construction of a water supply network in the settlements of Lomnica and Buci, and these works will be carried out after the signing of the Co-Financing Agreement with the Republic Water Directorate. All of these projects include executing of works in 14 settlements that are not connected to the water supply system and the plan of PUC “Vodovod – Kruševac” is, in the next two years, to connect all these settlements to the water supply system, after which about 95% of households will be covered in the territory of the town of Kruševac - said the director of PUC “Vodovod-Kruševac”,   Vladimir Milosavljević.

The mayor of the City of Kruševac, Jasmina Palurović pointed out that most of the water supply network in the settlement of Grkljane was built in the period from 2011 to 2012, and the works have not been completed so far. Nowadays, the works within which the pumping station was built are continuing, and now the construction of the reservoir is ongoing. The City of Kruševac allocated about 8,500,000 dinars for these works from its own Budget, and the completion of works at this facility is ongoing, after which the works on the completion of the secondary network in the settlement will be carried out. It is expected , by the end of the year, to connect the settlement of Grkljane to the water supply system.

The city of Kruševac is making effort to connect all its settlements to the water supply system and it is expected that over 95% territory of the City of Kruševac will be covered over the next two years by allocating funds from the City Budget, funds from the PUC “Vodovod-Kruševac” and the Budget of the Republic of Serbia. About 40 million dinars were allocated for the settlements of Zdravinje and Lomnica, as well as the settlements of Grkljane and Kamenare from the Budget of the City, which is one of the major investments in water supply of healthy drinking water for citizens of the City of Kruševac and its surroundings.
