On September 23rd, 2019, a Workshop On Inter-Municipal Cooperation In Wastewater Management was held at the premises of the Business Incubator Center - existing and necessary resources and competencies of local participants.

The aim of the Workshop is to establish a firm foundation and to gain a clear perception of the next steps in the preparation for regional cooperation in the field of municipal water management, as well as to strengthen the position of local participants in anticipation of Tenders and start of construction of the Plants in Brus and Blace. The workshop was opened by Miodrag Gluščević, Head of the Department of Urban and Environmental Utilities at the Permanent Conference of Cities and Municipalities. Experiences from Sweden in establishing regional inter-municipal cooperation in the field of water supply and wastewater were presented by representatives from the company "Gastike Vatten AB", and a presentation on the approach and methodology of developing the inventory, capacity and resources of local participants was carried out by Ms.Tanja Pavlović-Križanić on behalf of the Permanent Conference of Cities and Municipalities.

As a reminder, at the beginning of February this year the City of Kruševac and three other municipalities, Brus, Blace and Aleksandrovac, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on inter-municipal cooperation regarding the Protection and Sustainable Utilization of the reservoir Ćelije. This document is the first step in the implementation of the large and demanding obligations expected by all participants of this Memorandum to be fulfilled, taking into account the protection and conservation of Lake Ćelije, as the only water resource in the region.

Assistant Mayor for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energetics Ms.Olivera Drenovac and his associates were present on behalf of the City Administration of the City of Kruševac, while Mr. Vladimir Milosavljević and his associates were on behalf of Public Utility Company "Vodovod-Kruševac". The representatives of other water supply companies from the municipalities of Brus, Blace and Aleksandrovac were also present.
